Homeschooling

Home schooling is fun because it’s short and fast. It is only 6 hours a day; no home work. We get so much done in class that I don’t have extra work.

The teacher only focuses on me and my brother. I get a lot of attention if I have a question. There aren’t 12 other kids for her to help. For this reason we even get shorter hours than usual.

School is school and you can’t change that. But we don’t have to leave the house. I don’t have to commute anywhere. That takes too much time.

But when we do leave the house, we really leave the house. We get to travel the world. That’s part of what we’re doing this year. I’m most excited about the France and Africa trip because I will get to practice my French plus I will be seeing two new continents for the first time.

One of my favorite classes is art on Monday and Wednesday. We go from 4 to 6. Our teacher Liliana is nice and great. We do many sculptures and pictures in class. One of my favorite works of art is a painting I did of a sail boat. It turns out to be one of my best pictures so far. I also made a mosque out of cardboard and painted it. It’s modeled on the Grand Mosque of Cordoba in Spain. I learned about that from my history class last year.  I hope to get to visit the real mosque some day.
